Great shoulder pads

D3O makes really good pads. I compared this protective t-shirt to another brand's and this one was far better. Go up in size if your'e between sizes. This fits tightly. The back pad is pretty narrow. I'd prefer something wider at the shoulder blades, but lighter weight too (perhaps multi layer EVA with venting). The front chest pad is pretty worthless. It's more of a branding element. It will keep your chest mounted action camera from chafing.

Initial impressions are positive

Haven’t crashed in it yet, but it seems high quality. Bought a large - typically wear a L in t shirts but could wear a medium in a pinch. This is supposed to fit close to the body but a Large fits tighter than a size Medium t shirt and can be tricky to get on/off. Not a deal-breaker, just something to be aware of. Bought this after a crash that resulted in a broken collarbone, and definitely makes me feel safer and more confident about getting back on the bike.

Good quality

The shirt is really good quality. It feels a little on the heavy side but that's the price you pay to wear protective gear. First time I wore it, I had to pedal up a fire road for almost 6 miles and it the shirt didnt bother me one bit. I only wear it if I'm doing more gravity oriented riding. I really like the pad on the back. That was my main reason for buying it. I'd definitely recommend the flank core to anybody who is concerned about beating up their body during a crash.
