We started today’s stage to the traditional TransAlp theme song of Highway to Hell. We were both looking forward to this stage because we knew it was the shortest stage with the least climbing. Perhaps a rest day? There is no such thing at the TransAlp!

Today’s stage packed over 3,000 meters of climbing into 67 kilometres. That is a lot of climbing. We knew it would be gruelling and if we felt good we wanted to use this stage to make up some time. Today started with lots of nerves and unknowns. We have never done a multiple day stage race or started a race with over 1000 racers.
