This summer, hundreds of teams will begin two epic multi-day mountain bike races that will take them across the heart of two different European and German mountain ranges.

The TransAlp begins in Mittenwald Germany and ends in scenic Riva del Garda Italy. The eight day stage race routes through some of the most beautiful mountain ranges of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy. With over 600 km (360 miles) of unforgiving terrain and 19,500 meters of gruelling climbs, the TransAlp is the ultimate test of physical endurance and mental determination.

The Trans Germany routes through the most beautiful middle range mountains of Germany from "Pfälzerwald" to "Erzgebirge." The race covers a distance of 800 km (480 miles) and a vertical gain of 18.000 m (59.400 ft.). The Trans Germany will challenge both amateurs and pro cross country riders alike.

Two teams, one for each race, will represent RaceFace at the 2007 TransAlp or Trans Germany. Airfare, accomodation, race fees, custom jerseys, tech support and a full Race Face components spec are part of a total prize value that could exceed $20,000 USD for each team. This is a once in a lifetime sponsorship opportunity. Teams will send in an application form along with a short video explaining their motivation to compete in either one of the races and explain why they should be chosen to represent Race Face.

We'll take a select group of teams and post their information and videos on this web site for the Race Face online community to view and vote for which one team should represent Race Face at the 2007 TransAlp and 2007 Trans Germany. Once selected, we'll fly our teams to their respective races, pay their entry fees, deck their bikes out in the latest Race Face gear and provide technical support throughout the race.

Their journey will be documented online with daily web updates so our online community can keep track of the teams' progress. As our two teams undertake one of the most memorable adventures of their lives, what emotions will they experience? What sort of pain will they endure and what will they learn about themselves? We will soon find out, in the Race Face 2007 Ultimate XC Challenge.
