> Continuing the theme of top value versions of more expensive stems, the Evolve is almost indistinguishable from the far more expensive Deus. The difference is in materials - Evolve is 6061 rather than 7050 alloy - but you get the same flute sided forged single piece body shape. The four bolt clamp gets the same machined relieved centre logo for high class looks, and the clamp halves actually interlock and overlap to reduce bar stress. Opposable bolts help even out steerer stress too. As you'd expect, it's a bit heavier than the Deus and gets a one rather than three year warranty. It's still relatively light and we've had no problem with any of the several examples we've used so far. With perfectly acceptable stiffness for XC purpose, the Evolve is a good value all-round choice.
